About Brianna O’Brien

Brianna O’Brien is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Prior to becoming a PMHNP, she spent nearly a decade working as a psychiatric nurse, gaining diverse clinical experience across inpatient crisis stabilization, outpatient psychiatry, substance use treatment, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.

With her extensive background in high-acuity and outpatient settings, Brianna brings a compassionate, grounded, and clinically comprehensive approach to care. Throughout her career, she has cared for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing a wide range of complex mental health conditions.

Brianna’s philosophy of care is centered on building a strong therapeutic relationship founded on trust, compassion, and mutual respect. She believes in treating each patient holistically by recognizing the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Understanding that every person’s story is unique, she believes treatment should be just as individualized. Through shared decision-making and open communication, she partners with each patient to develop treatment plans that reflect their goals, values, and unique life experiences.

Recognizing that seeking mental health care can feel overwhelming, Brianna is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. Her approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, carefully considering the biological, psychological, social, and environmental factors that influence mental health. She believes healing is not simply about reducing symptoms, but about helping individuals discover or rediscover hope, build resilience, and move toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Brianna works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, postpartum depression, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders. She is equally passionate about supporting individuals through life transitions and reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness through education and compassionate, evidence-based care.

Outside of work, Brianna enjoys spending quality time with her family, staying active, practicing self-care, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity. She believes that nurturing her own well-being allows her to be fully present for the individuals and families she serves.
