Cynthia Hernandez is a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from California Baptist University and later completed her Post-Master’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification at the same institution .
With over a decade of nursing experience spanning emergency medicine, internal medicine, and outpatient practice, Cynthia brings a calm, grounded, and clinically comprehensive approach to care. Her dual certification allows her to thoughtfully treat individuals with complex medical and psychiatric needs, integrating physical and mental health into one cohesive treatment plan.
Cynthia’s philosophy of care is rooted in collaboration, respect, and transparency. She views each patient as the expert in their own life and works alongside them to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their values, goals, and comfort level. She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and whole-person care while emphasizing education, shared decision-making, and sustainable progress.
Recognizing how vulnerable it can feel to seek mental health support, Cynthia is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. Her approach is trauma-informed and holistic, focusing not only on symptom relief but also on strengthening insight, resilience, and long-term emotional wellness. By addressing both mental and physical health, she helps patients build stability that extends beyond the clinic.
Cynthia works with individuals across the lifespan navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, panic disorder, acute stress, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. Her dual training in family and psychiatric practice allows her to consider underlying medical contributors while providing comprehensive psychiatric treatment tailored to each individual’s needs. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and is dedicated to delivering culturally responsive care to diverse communities .
Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys spending time with family and her three dogs, pursuing personal and professional growth, and enjoying a good cheeseburger. She is passionate about guiding her clients toward clarity, balance, and resilience so they can reclaim confidence and live more fulfilling lives.
